US Women’s Soccer Team Wins Olympic Gold

The United States Women's Soccer Team has topped Japan 2-1 on their way to a gold medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

This victory marks the third consecutive gold medal performance by the US Women in Olympic play. It also provided some redemption for the Americans, who lost to Japan in the 2011 Women's World Cup Finals.
