This week's cocktail involves some ingredients that might generally scare you off, depending on your taste in booze, but give it a try and you'll see it's one that anyone can get on board with!

This week's cocktail has a beer base, and not just any beer, but Guinness Draught, a heavy stout that can seem intimidating, but is always delicious. It has a coffee-chocolatey side to it which provides a really great flavor for this cocktail.

Note: Since Guinness comes in 14.9 oz cans, it's easiest to just make two of these and use half the can in each drink.

Ingredients*:

  • 8(ish) oz. Guinness Draught
  • 1.5 oz. vanilla liqueur (like Navan)
  • 1.5 oz. DiSaronno amaretto (don't go knock off. DiSaronno or bust, my friends.)
  • 4 oz. club soda

*This recipe doesn't use ice, so all ingredients should be thoroughly chilled before you start!

Add the vanilla liqueur, amaretto, and club soda to a chilled pint glass, and gently stir. Pour the Guinness into the glass on top of the club soda mix, making sure you wind up with a half-inch to one inch of that fabulously creamy head that Guinness is known for.

Switch it up:

Try a different flavor liqueur (coffee or chocolate flavors would work well!)
