Video of the Manasquan Intercoastal Tug

Back in the Spring when the idea of a giant tug-of-war spanning Manasquan Inlet was talked about, we all knew it was going to be something big. I don't think any of us knew just how special this event was going to be.

Here's a brief look at some of the highlights.

Manasquan vs. Point Pleasant Beach. A narrow stretch of water separating counties and communities. I was proud to head up Team 94.3 The Point on the Manasquan side, and Andy Chase from our sister station 105.7 The Hawk was team captain supporting PPB.

The first heat was The Point vs. The Hawk. I was excited because our stations were the first to "christen the rope," if you will.

The PPB Teachers bested Manasquan, the same for the matchup between the two gyms.

However, Squan came back as the First Responders, lifeguards and football teams all came out on top. Manasquan took the 2018 Mayor's Cup.

We're looking forward to making this an annual tradition for years to come!
