After the single digit temperature with below zero wind chills we've dealt with over the past week, the temperatures will soar into the upper 50's today. so, how close to a record will it be?

Well it turns out that even with a swing over over 60 degrees in our temperatures over the past few days, we're not even really approaching a record high for today's date in the Jersey Shore area.

Turns out the record high for today is an amazing 76 degrees in the Freehold/Marlboro area back in 1954. That day in '54 the Long Branch/Oakhurst area's high was 71 degrees. Our meteorologist Dan Zarrow is calling for a high of 60 for us today.

Not exactly a record, but we're not exactly complaining, either.  Check out Dan's weather blogs anytime.
