A man who has always felt a strong patriotic desire to support our country, Alex Kieliszewski is this week’s warrior of the week.

His disabled sister greatly inspired him to join the military right out of high school in 2002, Kieliszewski said in an interview.

While in the military, he was a fort observer with artillery and worked with Special Forces.

His mission was to locate the coordinates of the destination, call artillery, and secure the area.

“I took on a leadership role being in charge of other soldiers and training others to jump,” said Kieliszewski.

He was working on becoming a sergeant and making the military a lifetime career when an accident left him unable to work toward his lifetime dream.

“My accident was in 2005 and I have had a long road to recovery but will always be a soldier,” said Kieliszewski.  “People didn't think I would survive my extensive injuries but I have persevered.”

Despite his injury, he can now be seen taking part in many physical activities such as hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling, or going to music concerts.

He does not know what the future will bring, but he knows one thing for sure. He will always be “Army Strong.”
