Did you see a bright light shoot over the sky last night? If you did, you saw a meteor. If you didn't see it, lucky for you a motorist captured it on their dashcam.

Pete Czech was traveling on 287 last night and was rolling his dashcam during the commute. At around 6:30 p.m. he was near exit 10 when a bright ball of light streaked across the sky. Check out the video footage of the meteor sighting.

Pete took to social media to share the sight.

NJ.com received statements from other Jersey residents who saw the light show too. Kerrie G. reported from Plumsted Township that it was "the brightest, bluest meteor I've ever seen and the glowing trail and the breaking apart was equally consistent the entire length until it left the atmosphere. It was totally by chance that I was in the right place at the right time."

William S. reported from Dumont: "It was so bright and so fast. It seemed like it was not that far from us. Pretty amazing."
