Police in Middletown are asking for your help to identify a very brazen thief -- caught stealing from a home on camera. We spoke to the victim, and you won't believe what the thief took!

It happened at a residence off Pine St. in Middletown on Wednesday, February 17th. A security camera mounted above the front door captured a woman stopping her car in the street, walking up to the home, stealing packages off of her front steps, and then driving away.

Police are hoping someone can identify the woman in the video, or possibly her car. The car is described as a black Jeep Cherokee with tinted rear windows, and a damaged front rim. The theft happened at 4:18 p.m., and anyone with any information at all is encouraged to come forward.

I spoke with Kristie Kane, the homeowner, who said when she first realized what had happened to her deliveries, she was in shock.

To make matters worse, Kane is 7 months pregnant, and the packages were gifts for her upcoming baby shower.

"At the end of the day...everything that was taken is replaceable. It was my [baby's] bedding...it's [upsetting]...my mother-in-law had ordered all the bedding, because she wanted to surprise us to have the room ready before the baby comes, and she's getting a refund...but they no longer have my bedding in stock. Not the end of the world, but it's one of the things where it's like, 'Really?' It was two packages of baby clothes and maternity clothes and a big box with all the bedding."

Police are actively searching for the thief, but again, if you have any information, call Middletown Police at 732-615-2100.

Someone has to know who this is. Let's find this thief!
