When the news broke that Prince had died today, it absolutely took over my newsfeed, and I realized that his influence spans generations and genres.

The man was a legend, and while I never got the chance to see him perform live in person, I always loved his energy and pure talent on stage. Here are some of my favorite performances:

  • 1

    Super Bowl Halftime Show (2007)

Even more incredible when you get some of the back story on how Prince handled a situation that lesser musicians would have pitched a fit about. (https://youtu.be/7NN3gsSf-Ys)

    "Creep" Cover at Coachella (2008)

This video went viral last year and I watched it about 20 times. One of my favorite songs, and he covers it in his own style...his skill on guitar is awe-inspiring.

"American Woman" cover with Lenny Kravitz (1999)

From the Rave Un2 the Year 2000 concert...another song that I always loved the guitar riff on and these two just slay it!

  • 4

    Billboard Music Awards (2013)

    An icon, indeed.
