We don't live or shop in that area much, so to us this is a hidden gem. It may have been around for years...but to us it's a pretty new experience!

The award-winning restaurant I am referring to is D'Jeet, in The Grove shopping center on Rt.35 North in Shrewsbury.

My son Ben (the foodie in the family) and I tried it last summer and were super impressed. We've always had it on our radar as a place worthy of a second visit, and we finally made it there this past weekend and loved it even more the second time around!

We were lucky enough to be able to dine outside on both visits, and this time we were there for lunch on Saturday afternoon.

We specifically went back for an appetizer that we have never found anywhere else that is so incredible that it's worth getting TWO of because it is too hard to share! It's their Goat Cheese Fritters. Spectacular.

Their whole menu is fabulous, so it's hard to pin down all of the favorites, but my son loves the Grandpa sandwich (soprassata, roasted red peppers, fresh mozarella, balsamic on seeded Italian bread)...he had it both times because it is so spectacular. This time around I had what was possibly the best burger ever in my life....with boursin cheese, a tomato marmalade and onion relish that still has me yearning for another!

But the dessert this time around stole the show and we are still talking about it. It was a blueberry lavendar Creme Brulee the likes of which we have never experienced anywhere before. It will teach your taste buds a new flavor combo that they never could have imagined. (And yes, it's purple inside!!!)

The french press coffee is just an added cherry on top of an already fabulous meal...and you can tell that all of the people dining there love the food because I didn't see one dish get set down on a table that wasn't Instagrammed before being cut into.

D'Jeet prides itself on farm fresh, seasonal and local cuisine and may be a little pricey but it's so worth it! The atmosphere is nice, too :) Casual but pretty.

From local, fresh food to craft-roasted coffee...We WILL be back.
