I love it when "out-of-towners" talk or write about our state. A website recently listed the "creepiest" urban legends state-by-state, and what they had for NJ is kind of a headscratcher.

It doesn't matter where in the state you live when you think of urban legends, you think the Jersey Devil, right? Not according to an article by Thrillist.

They actually say:

The average NJ Devil's fanboy is scarier than the obviously bull***t legend of the Jersey Devil.

Have you heard of "The Watcher?"

In the summer of 2015, a Westfield, New Jersey family left their new million home soon after moving in after being threatened by someone claiming to be "The Watcher."  The family supposedly got letters from this person saying that they were tasked with watching over the house. As more letters came in, the more terrifying they got. One asked, "do you need to fill the house with the young blood I requested?"

This is creepy, no doubt. But creepier than the Jersey Devil? Not even close.
