Wednesday’s Powerball winning numbers
The numbers for the massive Powerball jackpot have been drawn and someone could be holding a ticket that makes them one of the richest people in the world.
The winning numbers are: 4-8-19-27-34 and Powerball number of 10
The jackpot has an annuity value of $1.5 billion and a cash value of $938 million. NJ Lottery which could be even higher based on sales. New Jersey Lottery spokeswoman Judy Drucker said that nearly 86% of all possible number combinations were played for Wednesday's drawing.
Lottery Executive Director Carole Hedinger said that "even if you don't hit the big jackpot to be sure you check all your numbers. There are prizes at many levels so matching just the Powerball number can claim a prize."
CNBC reports that if the winner takes the annuity, after federal taxes and withholding they will be left with $561.7 million. New Jersey takes another 3% in sales tax according to the NJ Lottery. "If they win the jackpot, they're going to be subject to the highest federal tax rate of 39.6 percent," said Melissa Labant, director of tax advocacy for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants told the cable channel. "It's a lot more significant than folks expect."
