Weekend Events at the Jersey Shore
From Veggie Tales Live to Manasquan’s 125th Anniversary Celebration, there are plenty of events to keep you and your kids busy this weekend!
MY FAIR LADY (Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.) The longest running musical comes to the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank.
MANASQUAN’S 125th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION (Saturday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.) A fun-filled day and night of activities. The town parade down Main Street begins at 10 a.m., followed by a football game at Manasquan High School at 1 p.m., a Fireman’s Celebration by Manasquan’s Hook & Ladder Co. No. 1 will take place at their headquarters in Squan Plaza from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m., and fireworks on the beach at 8 p.m.
VEGGIE TALES LIVE! (Saturday) at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove. Your favorite Veggie friends sing and dance on tour for kids of all ages.
LAVALLETTE’S 125TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION (Saturday and Sunday). 8 remaining crew members of the World War II Destroyer U-S-S Lavallette will be celebrating the 125th birthday of the town that share’s the ship’s name this weekend. There will also be a parade on Sunday, a fireman’s barbecue, birthday cake, Garvey races, and fireworks.
FALL CRAFTERS MARKET and more at Allaire Village. The craft fair is Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. A book signing will be held at the General Store and museum Gift Shop on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with author Karen F. Riley, who has written numerous books on the Pine Barrens.
KIDS DAY IN AMERICA (Saturday, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.). Information on child health, safety, drug and alcohol and environmental awareness, with many fun things planned for children. Free at the Wall Municipal Complex in Wall.
CLASSIC CAR SHOW (Saturday, 3 P.M. – 5 P.M.) The Cars are Back in Asbury, with over 100 classic cars on Lake Ave. Plus live music from the Nick Clemons Band on the Chico’s House of Jazz Outdoor Patio Stage.
EATONTOWN COMMUNITY DAY (Saturday, 3 p.m.) Food music, entertainment, soccer and basketball matchups, petting zoo, a movie in the park and more at Wolcott Park.
RED BANK OYSTER FESTIVAL (Sunday Noon – 7 p.m.) The Guinness Oyster Fest. Music, food, and cocktails in the White Street Parking Lot.
