What is New Jersey’s Most Popular Taste?

Foursquare’s brilliant team was able to identify the the most popular tastes in America. Our state's most favorite taste is about Jersey as it gets.

And the winner is...pork roll. Or, as I call it, taylor ham. A "data science" team identified this taste using a mix of menus, tips, ratings, and more.

Foursquare's editorial team then reviewed the data and selected what they called "the winning taste that is most special and unique to each state." They also included the 50 best places in each state for that taste. More on that in a minute.

Pork roll is unique to Jersey. How many out-of-town visitors have to get a pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich? I've know some who enjoy it so much that they buy in bulk and take it home.

The spots in Monmouth and Ocean counties to get pork roll that ranked the highest include Belmar Bagel Cafe, Bond Street Bar and Grill in Asbury Park and Martell's in Point Pleasant.
