We are all still in shock over the tragedy in Paris on Friday. France showed us support in all kinds of ways after the events of 9/11/01. Let's help them in the recovery process. Here's what we can do.

Croix-Rouge (French Red Cross): The French Red Cross deployed over 300 volunteers to help survivors from Paris attacks and set up help centers.

Secours Catholique-Caritas Catholique: This is a France-based Catholic relief organization that typically helps the impoverished. They also provide assistance in emergencies and crises.

Secours Populaire Français: This is another organization that fights poverty, and it's called for solidarity with the victims. Its president, Julien Lauprêtre, issued a statement that the organization is mourning “in the face of barbarism and hate” and called for “gestures of humanity.”

Donate Blood: There are more than 190 people who were hospitalized after Friday's deadly attacks. Many are in critical condition.

Find where you can donate blood here.

Give Someone A Temporary Home: In the chaos following the attacks, many people in Paris were left with nowhere to go. Since then, many more people are left displaced in Paris, or even abroad.

Here's how you can give someone a temporary home. Use the hashtag #StrandedInUS if you have a space to give.

Find A Charity You Can Trust: There are plenty of other charities in the U.S. and on the ground in Paris. But before you send a text or donate any money to an organization, do your research. We recommend using Charity Navigator or GuideStar to ensure that your chosen charity or nonprofit is legitimate.
