"Let's Be Blunt" will teach Monmouth and Ocean County parents about today's marijuana and what you need to know regarding your kids.

"Let's Be Blunt" is a conversation about Marijuana -- a presentation on the facts and myths about pot.

It takes place at Brick Township High School, 346 Chambersbridge Road, for residents in Monmouth and Ocean County, (and beyond) on Wednesday, November 19th. Registration is at 6 pm, and the program runs from 6:30 - 8 pm. Free babysitting will be available for kids 3 - 12.

You'll hear a presentation by Congressman Patrick Kennedy (former US Rep for Rhode Island's 1st congressional district) and Dr. Kevin Sabet, the Director of the Drug Policy Institute at the University of Florida and an Assistant Professor in the college of medicine, Department of Psychiatry.They are co-founders of Project SAM Smart Approaches to Marijuana. Kevin Sabet is also the author of Reefer Sanity. From 2009 - 11 he served in the Obama Administration as the Senior Adviser to the director at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.

The event will also include Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato and Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni, (each will speak for 10 minutes), Bob Goldschlag, the Director of the DART Coalition, and Donna DeStefano, the Regional Coalition Project Director for the Prevention Coalition of Monmouth County to welcome everyone.
