We are expecting a snowy day throughout Monmouth & Ocean Counties today. So just how much snow can we expect and when can we expect it?

Our Chief Meteorologist Dan Zarrow has been tracking the storm and here's the latest on what he expects to happen throughout the day today.

Timing...The snow starts for us in the late morning hours. Early to mid afternoon will be the time for the heaviest snow. It will chance to sleet in the late afternoon hours and ultimately all rain by this evening.

Accumulations. We could see anywhere from about 1 to 3 inches before the changeover, possibly less along the coast.

Advisories. There is a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for our entire area from 7:00am to 9:00pm today,

Quick change. Before you know it, the weather will take an about face and head in the spring direction, at least for tomorrow when we expect some sunshine and a high that could approach the mid 50's.

School info. There are many schools reporting early dismissals due to the impending weather. Get the latest with Point Stormwatch.

The timing of this weather is the worst part of it, with the ride home being right in the bullseye. So, anticipate a slow and messy ride home today, and be careful.
