Experts say the first 10 minutes or so of your workday will set the stage for how well your day will go, and the most successful people have specific things they do in those first moments.

Unfortunately, stumbling to the coffee pot and talking with co-workers about the Giants game did not make the list, so I better pay attention to this. Here are some examples of more productive things for your first 10 minutes, according to businessinsider.com.

Get comfortable. It sounds simple, but experts say if you take a minute to adjust your chair and set up your desk comfortably, your day will go better.

Standing and stretching. I do it all the time, but I may be doing it at the wrong time. The experts say to do it before you sit. As a matter of fact they say you should do it in the first few minutes of the day.

Plan your whole day. If you map out the whole day first thing in the morning, the experts say you will have a more productive day. It's a great way to know if your schedule needs adjusting while there's still time to adjust.

Stop the multitasking. There is a huge temptation to multitask first thing in the morning, but the experts say it could mess your whole day up. Recent studies find that those who did one task at a time got more done over the course of the day.

I don't know about you, but I am literally 0 for 4 on those tips. I occasionally try to plan my day but it never seems to work out. I'll try again tomorrow. by the way, is it even possible to not multitask? I really don't think it is. If you're not multitasking, then you're thinking about multitasking, which ultimately IS multitasking!
