August is here and the Jersey Shore is preparing for a normal dose of August heat and humidity. Did you ever wonder just how hot it's gotten in August in the Garden State?

We did wonder that and we started to dig through some statewide data and came up with the top three August days in New Jersey, and here they are according to weather.gov.

(3) 102 degrees, which happened several times...Aug 5,1944, Aug 10,1949, Aug 11,1949, Aug 13,2005 and Aug 28,1948.

(2) 103 degrees, which only happened once, Aug 26,1948

(1) 105 degrees. The highest recorded August temperature in the Garden State was registered on August 9th, 2001.

So, there you go. The hottest ever August days in New Jersey. For the record, the normal high for the month is 84 degrees and the mean temperature is about 76 degrees. What will august 2018 bring is? We'll find out soon enough!
