Promised you'd bring dessert for Thanksgiving and have NO baking skills?

No worries, there's plenty of local places where you can pick up some sweets and treats. (Whether you pass them off as homemade is up to you.)

You can never go wrong with a pie from Delicious Orchards in Colts Neck. They are the best and come in just about every flavor you could want. (I'm partial to the coconut custard and pumpkin pies, but my Dad goes nuts for the blueberry, and everyone loves the traditional apple.) Keep in mind they are closed on Thanksgiving Day, so you'll have to pick it up a day or two ahead of time!

Also, don't be a lunatic: you obviously need to get a few bags of apple cider donuts before you go.

For more upscale desserts, pick up some gorgeous pastries and tarts from Antoinette Boulangerie in Red Bank. Whether it's an eye-catching fruit tart, chocolate mousse cake, or even French macarons, you'll be sure to impress every guest. (And they're open til 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving!)

Sometimes all you need is a box of Italian pastries to make people happy. Stop into Tuscany in Marlboro or Manalapan, and load up on some cannoli and cookies...and maybe get a few minis to eat in the car. And if that's too far...

In Ocean County, La Scala in Toms River is the spot for Italian goodies of all kinds. (If you're craving pignoli cookies, make a trip up to Joe Leone's in Point Beach. Totally worth it.)

Show up with a platter of chocolate truffles or chocolate dipped-ANYTHING and people will love you forever (and not just because they're family and they have to.) Van Holten's in Brick has a massive selection of chocolates and fudge -- they even have dog treats to keep the pups happy!
