A Whiting man remains in stable condition after a scary accident where his own truck ran him over Wednesday just before 6:30 pm.

Police say 48-year old Robert Braden Jr. used his 1996 red Ford F-350 to push a disable vehicle onto a 1988 Kenworth Tri-Axle Dump Truck located near Chilvers Elizabeth Avenues.

He then parked it partially up the ramps on the trailer and got out to secure the disabled vehicle.

While standing in back of his truck, it started to roll backwards, knocking him to the ground.

It was when he was down that the back tire drove over part of his head.

Responding officers found him on the front lawn of an Elizabeth Avenue residence.

Braden sustained serious head injuries and was airlifted by Medevac Helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment.

Assisting at the scene were EMTs from Quality Medical Transport as well as MONOC paramedics.

This crash is being investigated by Ian Bole of the Manchester Police's Traffic Safety Unit.
