You are invited to join Lou and Liz for a night of delicious meatballs, and so much more, from some amazing local restaurants! Help us decide who makes the best meatball at the shore!

This is the third annual Jersey Shore Meatball Gala and Lou and Liz have enjoyed being King and Queen of the Meatball. It's a great night of fun and food and entertainment, casual and full of laughs and festivities, as you and the judges help vote for the best meatball at the Jersey Shore!

Area restaurants and chefs are still able to participate. There is no cost to enter the competition. And for those attending, along with your meatballs you'll enjoy pasta and non-meat dishes, salads, bread, desserts, beer, wine, coffee and entertainment. And  hang out with Lou and Liz!

Categories include Best Traditional Meatball, Most Creative Meatball, Best Swimming Meatball, Best Non-Meat Meatball, Most Oddball Meatball, and more. At the end of the night, awards go out to Best in Show: the Meanest Meatball at the Jersey Shore, and the People's Choice Award for best meatball.

Last year's big winner was the Ground Beef Brisket Meatball in a Memphis BBQ Glaze from Jersey Shore BBQ in Belmar. There were also crab meatballs from Brandle in Belmar, ricotta cheese balls from Ponte Vecchio in Old Bridge, a shrimp meatball in a Cajun Alfredo sauce from Spring Meadow Inn, a Tiramisu ball from Fratello's in Sea Girt, a Southwest turkey meatball form MJ's in Tinton Falls and Neptune, and traditional meatballs from Jimmy's Cucina in Brielle and East Coast Cookery in Neptune.

Although this is called a Gala, it is a casual event, so you don't have to dress up. But I will warn you that in the past two years it has sold out, so get your tickets now! The Gala takes place on Thursday, April 16th, 6 pm - 9 pm, at the South Wall Banquet Facilities at the  South Wall firehouse on Atlantic Avenue. Tickets are $40 in advance, $50 on the day of the event and include all food, beer, wine and soft drinks.

FOR TICKETS, CALL (732) 820-4792. OR CLICK HERE!

All of the money raised through the gala will be donated by the non-profit Wall Cares to the Wall Alliance for the Prevention of Drug and Alcohol Abuse, the group that funds and organizes Project Graduation. This event gives the graduating teens a safe place and great all-night event to celebrate their graduation while ensuring they'll come home safe the next day, rather than the teens going out partying with drugs and alcohol all night and then driving under the influence.
