The Ocean County Health Department has received guidance this morning from the New Jersey Department of Health that WIC clients can be issued vouchers dating back to October 1, 2013. Although the federal government shut down officially continues, the Ocean County Health Department (OCHD) continues to strive to meet the needs of WIC clients serviced by the agency," said Ocean County Freeholder Gerry P. Little, Liaison to the Ocean County Board of Health.

Daniel Regenye, OCHD Public Health Coordinator, said "The Ocean County WIC
program is able to continue serving WIC participants, including new and existing clients. The
Health Department has also begun reaching out to all WIC clients directly to inform them of this
important update."

WIC participants who have been certified during the past few days since the Federal
Government Shutdown who have not received their WIC voucher should contact the Ocean
County WIC office at 732.341.9700 ext.7520 (Toms River) or 732.370.0122 (Lakewood).
