Granted, we've lucked out this winter when it comes to the weather - it's been unseasonably mild and mostly snow-free. However, it's still not summer, so what to do when you've finally been able to land a date (or a babysitter so you can go out with the hubby)?

Well after the initial coffee/drinks date, you need something more substantial. I know dinner and a movie is the standard, but you can't get to know someone during a movie...that whole no-talking thing gets in the way...and dinners can be really awkward.

May I suggest you embrace your inner child and do something silly like bumper cars or go carts? It can be a little pricey, but iPlay America in Freehold has all the fun of the boardwalk/theme park but it's all inside!

Also great for cheesy yet romantic fun? Ice skating rinks! There are so many in our area: Jersey Shore Arena in Wall, Howell Ice World, Ocean Ice Palace in Brick...even if you're a terrible skater, it's a great way to stop being so serious and just have a good time.

How about a Couple's Spa Day? Enjoy your night out together getting pampered with some massages or body treatments. It's a double treat! One of my favorite spots is Avanti Day Resort in Manalapan and of course Salon Kokopelli in Brielle.
