NJ Transit officials say NJ Transit trains are running on or close to schedule Tuesday afternoon following morning delays.

Spokesman John Durso Jr. says a tunnel into New York that had been closed earlier Tuesday due to a downed wire was reopened around 11:40 a.m.

Durso says a train carrying about 500 passengers became temporarily stuck in the tunnel heading into New York at about 5:40 a.m. when an overhead wire malfunctioned.
