Woman Struck and Killed by Train at Hazlet Station

A woman late Wednesday was fatally struck by a train at the Hazlet station Wednesday night.

Police at the scene have confirmed the victim is a female.

Following the accident, the train, heading south toward Long Branch, was stopped just north of the Hazlet station. The train’s first car blocked the railroad crossing at Holmdel Road.

Passengers have been let off the train. Anyone attempting to pick up passengers should approach the station from the south side of Holmdel Road in that traffic is being diverted in both directions.
