You’re Clear To Wear Your Bathing Suit In Asbury Park!

Bathing suits are now legal on the boardwalks of Asbury Park. The town council repealed the 1958 ordinance that made it illegal to wear bathing suits on the boardwalk. Former Councilwoman Louise Murray felt the bathing suits might threaten Asbury Park's classy image.

But now the coast is clear for you to break out that bathing suit! Prior to this repeal you could have faced a fine and up to 90 days in jail for sporting your favorite bathing suits on the boardwalk there. 

I think we've all seen someone on the beach with an ill advised bathing suit, bikini or speedo, and might have thought, "That should be illegal" or something like that. Who knew that up until this repeal, it was!
