Asbury Lanes Closing for Renovations
The legendary Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park is closing.
But, not for good. iStar Financial, the company that owns the building told the APP that the building will close in September for renovations. How long those renovations will take is still unknown.
As for the future of The Lanes themselves, iStar commented that they intend to keep Asbury Lanes a music and entertainment venue in the future.
Will there still be bowling? That is up in the air. However, iStar Financial is in the bowling alley business with over $100 million invested in bolling alleys.
A team headed by city developer Pat Fasano currently operates the venue but their lease is up in September. Their future involvement is undetermined, said the spokesperson.
