He is an internationally awarded, celebrity chef with six restaurants in the Garden State!
Well, actually.....it will be seven restaurants in New Jersey because Chef Burke is opening his third restaurant in Monmouth County.
Before we get to his new opening, have you been to any of Chef Burke's other New Jersey restaurants?
Let's take a quick look:
All Chef David Burke Restaurants In New Jersey
Okay...now for Chef David Burke's newest restaurant opening in Monmouth County.
It is called The Goat and it will be taking over the former the space that once occupied Piero's, an American bistro that closed in the Fall of 2021.
Here is what Chef David Burke has to say:
“Piero’s lasted for 30 years, that says something about the location,” explained Burke according to the press release. “There’s a ten-mile stretch of highway that is underserved. There’s a renewed interest in the area. People want to get out and dine out and they are tired of going over to Highway 35 to eat at chain restaurants. We will draw from the local Bayshore communities, Staten Island, Middletown, Colts Neck, Red Bank and beyond. We are close to GSP exit and there are lots of office and banks. Build it and they we will come. I grew up near here and I’m very excited about THE GOAT!”
Here is everything we know about The Goat so far:
Let me start with the obvious: yes, this restaurant will have, "goat-themed décor along with original artwork," according to the press release.
David Burke's wants this new restaurant to be a, "one stop, fun restaurant! [It will be] an easy choice for locals where guests quickly become regulars visiting several times a week."
UPDATE: When I spoke to Chef David Burke, he gave a bit more detail.
He said that the bar is in the middle of the restaurant and is therefore the vocal point of the new place. He describes the vibe as a high-energy and social with a fun, upbeat vibe!
The Goat will serve, "modern Continental and American cuisines," in which Chef Burke will put his own personal spin on.
UPDATE: Chef David Burke also gave us more detail on the new restaurant's food.
The restaurant will have a wood-burning pizza oven. It will be an all-American bar & grill with a nod to Italian dishes.
According to the press release, some of the main dishes already being promised include, "Chef Burke's famous burger using dry-aged prime beef, chicken, lamb, pizzas, several house-made pastas, a variety of refreshing salads, lobster roll, seafood dishes and steaks and a dessert menu that will not disappoint."
UPDATE: We found out which two dishes Chef Burke considers to be the "must try's" of The Goat.
The first must-try dish is a Roast Chicken for Two. According to Burke, "it will be flamed at the table, served whole and carved right in front of you"
The other top dish is Burke's Johnny Brosco Chicken Wings which has "capicola, long, hot Italian peppers, cherry tomatoes and mozzarella balls."
YUMMY!
Chef David Burke is promising one thing among the food and drinks being served: local is king. This menu will include local food products, locally distilled spirits and craft beers.
The Goat is scheduled to open in early April of 2022 - so we are basically there.
UPDATE: Chef David Burke spilled the beans and announced that The Goat will be opening on Wednesday, April 6th!
If you are eager to give them a try, The Goat is already accepting reservations for Easter Sunday and Mother's Day.
The space will have a bar and dining room with a total of 110 seats and a private event space that can accommodate an additional 100 guests.
The Goat will also offer takeout, delivery and eventually, outdoor dining.
The Goat's official address is 1411 Route 36 in Union Beach.
UPDATE: Chef Burke hinted at the possibility of The Goat offering Goat Yoga on weekends! I have been DYING TO TRY THIS!
That's not all. The Goat may also have a food truck open for business on the weekends for people leaving the beach!
So I may or may not get the opportunity to speak with Chef David Burke directly on this new opening so stay tuned for more information.
Trust me, I don't mess around with food.
