When Old Bridge's 21 year old Evan Ruggiero was 19, and a dancer, he was diagnosed with cancer. Eventually doctors told him the only way to save his life was to amputate his leg.

This brave young man continued his dancing and singing careers in a very inspirational way. Chek out more of the story by clicking here. Evan soon found himself at the New York/ New Jersey auditions for American Idol, and last night we got to see him as he faced Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban.

He did a little Jason Mraz and then did really great with a Bon Jovi song. The judges didn't think Evan was ready for Hollywood. I completely disagree. After hearing him do "Wanted Dead Or Alive",  I thought he would have no problem making it to Hollywood, but it didn't work out that way.

Either way, I thought Even did an amazing job and will be an inspiration to people worldwide after his appearance on Idol last night. Evan, I'm looking forward to you giving it another try next season! Good luck in all you do!
