The Huddy Park In-Water Boat Show is what prompted my wife, Diane, and I to buy our pontoon boat from New Jersey Outboards — we had been discussing it, but seeing the boats in the water and really experiencing them sealed the deal.

Our pontoon comfortably seats about a dozen people, and it's really revolutionized our summers. We dock our pontoon less than a mile away from our house, so we find ourselves hanging out on the boat for a few hours without going anywhere. We also love lagooning, fishing and hitting F-Cove.

I'll be hitting the 10th Anniversary Spring Huddy Park In-Water Boat Show to scope out potential upgrades to our pontoon or see if there's anything we'd really love to upgrade to.

Sales people are on hand to answer questions and offer free rides, but there really isn't any sales pressure. It's more of a meeting of people who are enthusiastic about boating and curious about the latest amenities.

It's so cool to be able to get in a boat and have the time to check out all the little features. This show will include "Triple Toon" pontoons in regular, luxury and performance models. They'll also have "deck boats, center console fishing boats, dual console fishing boats and pilot house fishing boats," according to organizers.
