2 Famous New Jersey Musicians Pay A Visit To Their Alma Mater This Week
Is your high school known for being the school of a famous person?
Where I grew up, in North Wales PA, the high school I went to was also the alma mater of John Oates who graduated from there in 1966.
One time John Oates actually came back to North Penn for an assembly, and we got to watch a private acoustic performance while he talked about hard work and determination.
I'm not a huge Hall and Oates fan, but it was a really cool day that I won't forget anytime soon.
Sayreville High School students got to have a similar experience this week when two iconic New Jersey musicians stopped by the school.

Imagine being called into an assembly only to see Jon Bon Jovi standing at the podium getting ready to speak to your class, it would be amazing!
That's what happened this week at Sayreville High School when Bon Jovi returned for a dedication ceremony for the new Jon Bon Jovi Performing Arts Center and Music Suite.

He told stories about how he grew up just a few miles from the school, his first performance ever at a talent show in the high school, and how he skipped prom in order to open up for Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, according to My Central Jersey.
At one point, Bon Jovi invited Dave Sabo on the stage with him, who not only played in Bon Jovi for a short period but also went on to be a co-founder of Skid Row.
Sabo is also a Sayerville grad and joined Bon Jovi to share memories and give a speech to current students.
As a rock fan, this would probably be the coolest day of school ever for me, and believe it or not, there are a lot of famous people who were born in Jersey.
