I'll be the first to admit, I'm not a huge soccer fan; however, with the World Cup hosting games at MetLife, I'm excited to see everything that the games bring to the Garden State.

The World Cup runs June 13th through July 19th, with games scheduled to be played in Philadelphia, Boston, Miami, and Atlanta, and that's just along the East Coast.

What I think is really cool about soccer is that it's one of the few games that's played almost all around the world, so it's kind of like a universal language.

Tourists May Be In For A Bit Of Culture Shock When They Visit New Jersey

I have been seeing a lot of people from other countries online mentioning that they think it's crazy that most of the stadiums that the World Cup is being held at are not exactly walker-friendly.

Granted, I don't disagree, I would love to be able to walk to MetLife, or walk to Citizens Bank Park, but that's just not how our Country is set up. And I think that walkability may just be the tip of the "culture-shock" iceberg people from other countries will experience while visiting New Jersey for the World Cup.

For example, I'm not sure if people from other countries are ready for Pork Roll, Egg, and Cheese. It's a Jersey staple, and not something you can get in other countries. You'll be craving it for the rest of your life when you leave!

World Cup Tourists Have To Experience The Jersey Shore While In NJ

If you're visiting from another country for the World Cup, you also have to make some time to experience the Jersey Shore. Sure, there are beaches all over the world, but they don't have the same attitude or vibe that the Jersey Shore has. And while you're at the beach, be sure to grab a slice on the boardwalk.

I know Italy claims it has the best pizza in the world, but once you have a slice of Maruca's while you watch seagulls dive-bomb people on the boardwalk, it'll change your life.

World Cup Tourists Should Also Take A Day To Explore NJ's Small Towns

And if you're visiting New Jersey from another country for the World Cup, you have to take some time to check out at least one New Jersey small town.

Places like the Atlantic Highlands, Lambertville, and Frenchtown are all great places for a day trip while in the Garden State!

They may be small, but they pack in a lot of personality and may make you want to call New Jersey your new home.
