New Jersey Transit Is On Strike And Thousands Are Affected
The New Jersey Transit Strike Is Here
Hundreds of thousands of NJ Transit commuters are waking up to a major strike, and getting to work will be challenging. Patch said, "The strike has created a complete suspension of rail service, including Metro-North west of Hudson service."

According to Patch, "The NJ Transit strike is here, and more than 350,000 commuters will have to figure out how to make their way to and from work as the contract negotiations between the agency and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen failed Thursday night."

This is a developing story and more information will be available as news comes out today. The main sticking point appears to be a "me too clause". According to Patch, "would allow any wage increase given to BLE&T could be requested by other unions."
We will continue to monitor and provide more information on the strike in the days to come.
