Barnegat Woman Killed in Atlantic City Expressway Crash

A Barnegat woman died in a crash on the Atlantic City Expressway midday Thursday.

About noon on Thursday, an 80-year-old woman from Barnegat stopped in the left-hand lane on the Expressway eastbound near mile 4.8 before being rear-ended by another driver, according to New Jersey State Police.

The woman was driving a Hyundai Kona. She was hit from behind by a person driving a Genesis GV80.

The driver of the Hyundai died from her injuries, State Police said. The driver of the Genesis received minor injuries.

NJ State Police has not released the woman's name pending notification of her family.

The crash is still under investigation.
