Heartbreaking News for NJ Fans of Legendary Band
The end of the road came sooner than planned for the legendary band, Aerosmith.
This band has had many ups and downs throughout their career, yet they always managed to see another day in the rock universe.
There's a lot to be said for that kind of longevity or as some might say, survival. Sadly, as of today, Aerosmith is done.
Philadelphia Tour Date Canceled
The band has been on the road for their Peace Out Farewell tour and was scheduled to play in Philadelphia next month.
However, ongoing health issues have been plaguing Steven Tyler, and despite a valiant effort, the problems became insurmountable.
Steven Tyler Injury
It was last year in New York when 76-year-old Steven Tyler fractured his larynx causing the postponement of the tour. It was thought that with time, his health would improve.
However, today, the band posted an announcement of social media announcing they were canceling the tour.
As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible.
Anybody fortunate enough to see Aerosmith live knows this is a band that brings it, every time they take the stage.
Aerosmith is one of the last of a generation of real rock bands.
Think about this, what band out today, will still be performing in sold-out arenas 55 years from now? This band played a big part in the soundtrack of babyboomer lives.
If this is how it ends, we toast a great band and the great memories they were a part of.
Tickets may be returned for a refund at the point of purchase.
