How many people, described as blue-collar workers can say they also have a billion dollars in the bank?

I'm guessing that number would be quite small.  However, they do exist.

According to Forbes, we have one right here in New Jersey.

Welcome to the Billioniares Club

Bruce Springsteen, The Boss, is the latest member of the billionaire's club.  Yet he remains one of the hardest-working rockers in the world of music.

Forbes is reporting that Bruce's tour last year took in a staggering 380 million.

The Boss has put out 28 albums combined, that have sold over 200 million copies worldwide.

Through the years, Springsteen has evolved and grown.

In addition to penning legendary songs, he has written a best-selling autobiography and produced and performed a one-man show about his life on Broadway.

How to Make Money in Music

Artists like Springsteen make the bulk of their earnings on the publishing rights of songs.

Not all artists write their songs.  In this scenario, the artists make their money by hitting the road and playing gigs.  They also make money selling merchandise at the shows.

When you're an artist like Springsteen, who is a prolific writer and performer, there's money to be made.

Those Songs are Worth Big Bucks

A couple of years ago, Springsteen joined a trend that others in the industry had been doing.

According to a New York Times article, a few years ago, Springsteen sold the publishing rights to his songs to investors for a reported $550 million.

Artists like Paul Simon, Stevie Nicks, Bob Dylan, and others have all signed deals, turning over publishing rights to their songs for hefty profits.

Even as The Boss ages, his shows are legendary.  Is there anyone who gives a more energetic effort to satiate their fans?

Even more impressive, Bruce is proud to make New Jersey home.  Stick around long enough, and you just might run into him getting ice cream at a local stand, or maybe hangin' down the shore.

He's just like like us, only with a lot more money.
