Am I the only person from New Jersey who does this?

When I meet someone in a different state, and tell them where I'm from, they inevitably ask me if Jersey is really like the show, Jersey Shore.

I usually look the person directly in the eyes, and with my best Jersey attitude, I say, No.  It's more like The Sopranos, capiche?

The looks I get are priceless.

In 1999, a new television series was introduced on HBO.  The series, created by David Chase was called, The Sopranos.

The show starred James Gandolfini as mobster Tony Soprano, and the show quickly became must-see TV.

During its six-year run, The Sopranos won numerous awards including an unprecedented 21 Emmys.

The show created water cooler talk after each episode.

People would get into deep conversations about what they saw the previous night.

Even real gangsters praised the series for its authenticity.

The talk and analysis continued right to the end when the series ended in 2007.

To this day, fans of the series analyze the last episode and try to figure out the true meaning of what they saw.

Saw it should come as no surprise that on this, the 25th anniversary of the show's premiere, HBO is airing a new documentary about the series aptly called, Wise Guy.

The 3-hour documentary on HBO attempts to dig deep into the series, and includes conversations with creator David Chase.

We learn a lot about the show you probably weren't aware of and the conversation with Chase is interesting for many revelations about the show, including the fact it was inspired by his relationship with his mother.
