Many of you are aware I have been coaching the Atlantic Shore Babe Ruth baseball programs for about as long as I have host The Sports Bash on 97.3 ESPN.

Over the years we have put together some really good teams, including a memorable World Series winning team in 2021.

Well we have another great group of boys and parents who are making another run to the 13-Year old Babe Ruth World Series in Glen Allen, Va, from August 8-18 and could use some help in getting there.

The team made a tremendous run through the Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament in Altoona, PA last week, resulting in an appearance in the Regional Finals. Atlantic Shore faced a team from Cranford, NJ and fell 9-3, but was awarded a special invitation to the World Series with an expanded field this year.

There is a ton that goes into getting a team to the World Series with practices, and traveling to stay in hotels and all of that takes a lot of money. A 10-day trip to the World Series costs about $30,000 to pull off with hotels, travel, lodging, meals and more.

You can help make a donation to help the team with their lodging and travel for the 10 days by clicking on the link here.

There will also be a fundraising event at Meyers Lighthouse Brewing Company & Mini Golf, 2576 US-9, Ocean View on Saturday August 3rd from 5-close. There will be plenty of prizes, discounted drinks, food and plenty of fun to help support the team.

Players from the team are from Brigantine, Margate, Longport, Somers Point, Northfield, Ocean City, Upper Township, Dennis Township, Middle Township and Lower Township.

The players include: Corey Clemens, Mikey Frisch, Easton Iames, Brad DeFeo, Henry Bogle, Bayan Ricci, Gavin McDonnell, Brady Malloy, Nick Matteucci, Nate Stocker, Chase Kern, Connor Thomas, Dillon Kelly, Charlie Matthews and Trent Stefano

10 Favorite Things about Cape May County, NJ

The history of Cape May County predates the formation of the United States of America by about 100 years as it was one of the first counties established in what was originally known as the West New Jersey Provence. Cape May County's historical records go back as far as 1685 and the County was originally established in 1692. Cape May County has been a huge part of my life and that of my family's for decades, so I wanted to share with you my favorite aspects of the southern most County in the state of New Jersey.
