Long Branch native's Carolyn Stack and Scott Pauciello took "the plunge" twice over the weekend.

The two tied the knot on New Year's Eve with a reception that went until 2am New Year's Day. Then, by 8am they were at Convention Hall in Asbury Park ready to dive into the 52 degree Atlantic Ocean for the Sons of Ireland's Polar Bear Plunge. Scott was sporting a tuxedo t-shirt and Carolyn's shirt said "off the market."  The idea was Carolyn's, but was able to get Scott to "warm up to it." It was all for a very good cause. 4,000 people attended the plunge to cheer on the over 500 brave souls who went in the water all to raise money for 4 local charities.

The next Polar Bear Plunge takes place at the Aztec in Seaside Heights on Saturday February 25th to benefit Special Olympics.
