Meryl Streep Plays Toms River Mom in New Movie [VIDEO]
Terry Cieri of Toms River is well known for rockin' the Shore and bringing the house down with her musical talents. Her local legacy is now the subject of a motion picture starring Jersey native Meryl Streep.
Streep plays Cieri in "Ricki and The Flash." The movie tells the story of a bar band performer reconnecting with her estranged family. It's currently playing in select theaters.
Cieri, 61, was born in Queens and is now based in Toms River as she fronts the band "Silk and Steel." The mother of three fell in love with music at an early age, starting to play the guitar at age 9.
What may be as impressive the movie, is the the soundtrack.
According to Rolling Stone, the “Ricki and the Flash” soundtrack will also feature Streep performing Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ “American Girl,” Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” and Bruce Springsteen’s “My Love Will Not Let You Down.”
