Police in Middletown are investigating a car accident that sent a pedestrian to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say the 34-year old man from Leonardo was hit at the intersection of Leonard Avenue and Leonardville Road Monday around 5:15 pm.

The pedestrian sustained injuries that are not life-threatening.

He was transported by Lincroft Volunteer First Aid and Rescue Squad to Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle, a 59 year old male from Middletown, remained on the scene and is cooperating in the police investigation.

There have been no summonses issued at this time.

The crash is still under investigation.
