Off To An Early Start With Christmas Shopping

Normally, I wait until the last possible minute to do my Christmas shopping. There's something about the pressure that makes me shop better. But this year I'm off to an early start. I started yesterday.

That may seem late to most people, but for me, that's about 10 days early, and I have to admit, it's nice to get some stuff done early. It's always been my plan to do my shopping in my mind in advance. I usually get to the store knowing what I want to get each person.

I factor in the difficulty of finding certain items and have back up ideas for those people. then I put my game face on and get to work. It usually succeeds, even though I sometimes have to do some last minute improvising.

This year is different though. This year after Sandy and the snowstorm, I just can't bring myself to trust the weather. I feel like I better get it done while I can, and if that means getting out there way early (at least for me) then that's what I'm going to do. Even if it means having nothing to do on the 23rd and 24th. I'm sure I'll find something to do!
