Today's Point Pet of the Week has become a favorite there, and the staff and volunteers will be sad when she leaves, but happy to see her find her forever home.

Shannon is a brindle two year old mixed breed whose owners couldn't care for her anymore.

She is the love of the adoption center, walks really well on a leash (except when she needs to give kisses!), and always makes people smile and laugh.

She's even got a big smile for the camera in this picture!

Shannon is the life of the party and will make a wonderful family pet for first-time dog owners with children.

If you'd like to meet Shannon or any of the other wonderful animals that the Monmouth County SPCA has to offer, click here for more details.

And we also have word that the Monmouth County SPCA has just brought a bunch of puppies that they rescued in Puerto Rico to their Homeward Bound Adoption Center inside Freehold Raceway Mall (lower level next to Sears).

And remember, whether or not you have adopted your pet from the Monmouth County SPCA, they have a vet on premises and clinics that are open to anyone who needs spay/neuter, rabies shots, heartworm treatments (with specials this month in honor of Heart Health Awareness and Valentines Day!), and most any service that your pet needs!
