Attempting to use alleged counterfeit $100-dollar bills at The Beauty Store in Stafford Square and Dunkin Donuts on Washington Avenue in the township Wednesday around 4:30 pm lead to four men being placed in handcuffs.

Police made a motor vehicle stop on Route 72 near Route 9 of a 2003 Black Honda Accord Wednesday after getting a description of the suspects and their car and arrested the four men.

Gregory Cooper, 19, of North Brunswick, Shaquille Hargrove, 22, of Newark, Wayne Grant, 20, of Orange and Nygee Brown, 18, of West Orange were all placed in handcuffs.

Cooper is charged with Forgery, Conspiracy, and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

He was also issued multiple motor vehicle summonses and had an active traffic warrant for his arrest issued by the Newark Municipal Court.

Cooper was later released on his own recognizance.

Hargrove is charged with Forgery, Conspiracy, and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

Brown is charged with Forgery, Conspiracy, and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

Grant is charged with Possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

All four men were released with court appearances to be scheduled by Ocean County Superior Court.

The public is reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations, and that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
