Uh oh. I feel like the worst mom ever. Before I explain, can we all agree that life gets busy? I have a family of five, and there have been lots and lots of vaccines lately. Between two different COVID shots, two different boosters, plus regular vaccinations for school and sports, my head was spinning. Add flu shots for all five of us to the mix and I was bound to screw up.

The Ocean County Health Department is now urging everyone to do their part to help prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses, like flu and COVID-19 at the same time by getting a flu shot, remaining socially distant in public and wearing a mask as we head into the fall.

The flu season is a rough one so far in the Garden State.

Some Info On This Year's Flu And Flu Shot

In case you did not get the memo, you are supposed to get a flu shot once a year. 

The Monmouth County Health Department is reminding us that flu season is around the corner and they are encouraging you to get your flu vaccine.

You can't go anywhere without hearing about it, and you can't touch anything without being afraid to catch it. It's this year's flu, and it has everybody concerned. And there's lots of advice out there about how not to get it, and what to do if you do get it.

We've all heard by now that this is no ordinary flu season. According to msn.com, this years flu season is the earliest to hit since 2003-2004, and in some hospitals across the state, emergency room visits due to the flu like symptoms are nearly double what they were last year.

It's flu season, and this is apparently one of the worst and deadliest in a decade. Despite the heavy warnings from the CDC, I haven't gotten a flu shot. And I'm not sure I will.

I was at a store a few days ago and heard a chorus of sneezes and coughs. I check Facebook and a lot of people are complaining about being sick. I come to work and tissue boxes are everywhere.
