The 4th Annual Open Space Pace and Festival of Horses is coming to Freehold Raceway on Saturday, September 19th and will feature a free day including a parade of horses, demonstrations by equine and agricultural non-profits, live harness racing, petting zoos, a concert and more!
I went to Freehold Raceway to promote open space and reminding everyone how important the equine industry is to our local economy, and oh yeah, I was hoping top win a harness race this past Saturday.
It was a thrill actually being in a harness race at legendary Freehold Raceway! And a thrill to know that all I had to do to win that race was to beat Liz. It was all going great until I looked over my shoulder at the stretch and saw just how close Liz was to me.
After all the trash talk last week, it came down to one thing. Who would win the harness race at Freehold Raceway that would give the victor bragging rights as the greatest harness driver in the history of our moning show?
This Saturday, the Open Space Pace takes place in Freehold. It starts with a parade through town, then a full day of harness racing at Freehold Raceway and wraps up with a Southside Johnny concert. It's during the day of racing that I will take on Liz in an actual harness race!
