Restore the Shore

Another awesome sign of rebuilding in Sea Bright as one of the owners of the popular (and Sandy-destroyed) Donovan's Reef, says it should be partially reopened by July 1st!

The Sea Bright Post Office building on Ocean Ave., boarded up and vacant since Sandy ripped through, will finally come back to life this summer in the form of a new restaurant.

After Sandy destroyed the town of Union Beach, a local restaurant owner launched a community kitchen that's been serving hot meals to those in need. It was forced to close over the summer amid financial issues...but will reopen tonight thanks to Jon Bon Jovi and his charity foundation.

The construction along Rt. 35 is absolutely necessary, both to repair the damage from Sandy, and to make sure this vital roadway can withstand future storms. In the meantime, the businesses that sit along the road are suffering, especially in the furthest reaches of South Seaside Park.

It's been 19 months since Hurricane Sandy washed the Avon Pavilion away...but after a long road, it's finally set to reopen!

Ed Jarrett, the sculptor behind 'Sandycastle - the World's Tallest Sandcastle' has a new project in the works to benefit Hometown Heroes, the charity organization that recently lost their office and its contents to a fire.

The 2nd Annual River Concert is coming up, to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy.

A Sea Bright landmark that was destroyed by Superstorm Sandy has been given approval to reopen by the Borough Planning Board.

Okay, so this isn't so much a cocktail of the week as a vino of the week, but regardless I intend to drink it as soon as I get home, and I suggest the same for you.

Sandycastle on Point Pleasant Beach has become a symbol of rebuilding for so many people along the Jersey Shore, and yesterday, it had it's official ribbon cutting ceremony.

As Restore the Shore continues, there's more good news. This time it's for Sea Bright.
