A few visitors had a "whale" of a time in Asbury Park this Saturday morning (Nov. 12)!
A small boat off the coast got quite a surprise when a few whales decided to join them for a swim! The whales were headed North up the beach, and several residents on the boardwalk got quite a show

Whales are an occasional sight in the ocean off the Jersey coast, especially in late summer as the water warms up...but three whales were spotted on Sunday in two Monmouth County rivers!
It's the year of weddings for Duzzy and me, as we attended our 5th of 2014 this past weekend in Rhode Island.
Luckily we were able to get a mini-vacation in on Cape Cod before the wedding, and spent a little time on a whale watching boat. The photos and videos really speak for themselves!
If you've never seen a whale up close, it's one of the coolest things ever. I went on a whale-watching trip last summer in Cape Cod and would recommend it to everyone.
What I wouldn't recommend is diving so close to whales that they almost eat you.
