According to an article on APP.com, there is a new, sober-curious trend that is growing in popularity and personally, I am not surprised.

A lot of people - myself included - over indulged during the peak of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

We were eating more. We were drinking more. But now that life is slowly returning back to "normal," people are trying to dial back by committing to healthier habits.

As a result, Dry January has kind of been extended in 2022 for a lot of people.

A lot of Jersey Shore restaurants are trying to adapt to cater to this new trend but one Asbury Park staple has been ahead of the curve for years.

I first told you about this unique drink menu available at Watermark in Asbury Park back in 2019 but now that healthy habits are the vibe in 2022, it is time I tell you again.

This beachfront bar - which has a killer view you can see below - offers a drink menu filled with non-alcoholic concoctions & cocktails with low-alcohol content for those who aren't looking to "go hard" per say.

It is a genius idea when you think about it and I am personally surprised other Jersey Shore bars have not jumped on this trend yet.

Here are the "Low Alcohol" and "No Alcohol" drink menus offered at Watermark:

Not only do these concoctions look delicious, but they can be a real money saver if you think about it.

A typical cocktail at the Jersey Shore -- especially while in season -- usually costs $14.00 and up at least.

These drinks range between $5.00 to $8.00 each so making sure your tab doesn't break the bank is now much easier.

Plus, consistently ordering Lyfts to safely get home after drinking is smart but the cost can rack up over time.

The cheaper, more common option is to have a designated driver.

That driver may still want to enjoy a "mocktail" of some sort so they can still sip and enjoy with the crowd.

"Well, why don't they just order a soda?"

Because KAREN....everyone - even people who don't drink - want to feel bougie and enjoy a fancy beverage they don't have to make themselves.

Plus if everyone else is getting bougie cocktails, why should the designated driver lose out on getting that high-class experience?!

They shouldn't...

And there are many other scenarios that this idea can apply to.

Maybe you are meeting up with friends and don't want to drink. Maybe you are about to sit down for a business lunch. Maybe you are someone who CAN'T drink.

Well now....you have bougie options too.

Personally, the Strawberry Fizz catches my eye.

Here is how it is described on their website: "Strawberry Puree, Muddled Cucumber, Fresh Lime, Celery Bitters, Topped with Cane Sugar Ginger Ale and Club Soda."

RE-FRESH-ING!

I am surprised other Jersey Shore restaurants have no jumped on this trend but now with this new sober trend, they'd be crazy not to.

Safety. Affordability. I just don't see a downside here.

But keep that regular drink menu available as well! The more options you offer, the more appealing you are to customers.
