Okay, so this isn't so much a cocktail of the week as a vino of the week, but regardless I intend to drink it as soon as I get home, and I suggest the same for you.

This is no regular red wine. I never get snooty about wine (I really just know the basics) but you have to try the Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2013.

Beaujolais Nouveau (BOW-zha-lay noo-VOH) is a very young wine (it's fermented for only a few weeks), and incredibly easy to drink.

If you 'don't like red wine,' try this one. It's fruity, simple, light, and VERY good this year.

Beaujolais Nouveau is released on the third Thursday of November (making it popular around the holidays) but you should still be able to find it. Unlike a lot of other red wines, this is meant to be enjoyed right away.

Best of all, it's pretty cheap. I picked up a bottle the other day for $11.99.

If you're dead set on making a cocktail this week, put some club soda in it and call it a spritzer. You can even do half-wine and half-cola to make a drink call a kalimotxo. (Meh.)

Speaking of wine, don't forget to join us for the Restore the Shore Tasting Event next Thursday...sample wine and spirits from more than 50 companies, all to benefit one of our favorite local charities, Hometown Heroes. Get info and tickets HERE!
